Are you making your insomnia worse by doing the following?

-Going to bed before feeling sleepy as a way of trying to get more sleep

-Staying in bed later than normal, especially on weekends, and spending more time in bed in an effort to "catch up" on sleep

-Trying to control or "force" sleep in the belief that "If I try just a little harder, sleep is bound to come"
-Taking daytime naps in an attempt to catch up on sleep
-Calling in sick to work or canceling plans with friends because of a bad night of sleep
-Taking different type of teas, melatonin, and bath routines or rituals
-Mind rumination about sleep that creates anxious thoughts about sleep

Other things that can trigger insomnia are stress, career changes, health issues, and other big changes like dealing with divorce, death of a loved one, chronic illness, loneliness, job loss and unemployment, academic examinations, caring for a family member with debilitating illness or unusual events all activate the arousal system and make sleep difficult.

How stress affects your body and mind?

  • Muscle problems: chronic tension, headaches, and back pain

  • Cardiovascular problems: high or low blood pressure chest pain, irregular heart beats

  • Gastrointestinal problems: irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal pain, colitis, indigestions, constipation, and diarrhea

  • Infertility, premenstrual syndrome

  • Anxiety, panic attack, anger and depression

Break the vicious cycle of ever-worsening sleep by addressing the root of your stress, becoming aware of the wrong beliefs and behaviors and change the unhealthy cycle with new habits like muscle progressive relaxation, slow breathing techniques, exercising, self-hypnosis, and energy detoxing. When you become aware about your energetic field, you will be able to turn off the stress responses, transform negative emotions like fear, anger, and frustration, for elevated emotions of peace, joy, gratitude and compassion.

I combine hypnotherapy or sleep hypnosis with mindfulness and another relaxation techniques like a form of counseling that reframes negative thinking about sleep promoting sleep hygiene improvements and developing a healthier sleep-related routine. In addition to that, I will teach Qigong tapping/breathing techniques to promote blood circulation and allow the energy to flow.

We will work together for 6 weeks, 6 hypnosis sessions for 1.30hr with the following 5 components

1.  Build sleep drive by establishing sleep new habits

2. Relax the body and mind (hypnosis and muscle progressive relaxation techniques)

3. Re-program your old thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors with hypnotherapy

4. Sleep hygiene, EFT tapping techniques and self-acupressure massage for better sleep and managing stress

5. Sleep diary & Sleep Calculator.
